This Return Policy explains your rights and obligations regarding returns, refunds, and claims for our custom-made artworks. This policy should be read together with our Terms & Conditions.
Nothing in this Policy limits your mandatory consumer rights under applicable law.
1. No Right of Withdrawal for Custom Artworks
1.1 Custom & personalised artworks All physical artworks produced by Signature ArtLab are made to your specifications and clearly personalised (based on your input, ideas, or files). For that reason, the statutory 14-day right of withdrawal (cooling-off period) for distance contracts under EU/Dutch law does not apply to your purchase.
1.2 No refunds for change of mind We cannot accept returns, issue refunds, or offer exchanges solely because you have changed your mind, or if the final artwork – while in line with your original input and our artistic process – does not match your subjective aesthetic preferences.
2. Claims Based on Damage or Defects (Non-Conformity)
This section applies if the artwork is damaged upon arrival or has a defect, meaning it does not conform to the agreed specifications.
2.1 Damage during transport
If your artwork arrives visibly damaged:
Reporting period – Notify us via email (info@signature-artlab.com) within 48 hours of receiving the artwork.
Documentation – Include clear photos of: (A) the outer and inner packaging, and (B) the damage to the artwork itself.
Resolution – Once the damage is confirmed, we will provide a replacement artwork at no extra cost, provided the original Client Input is still available. We may ask you to safely retain or return the damaged artwork; if a return is required, we will provide instructions.
2.2 Defects or non-conformity (excluding transport damage) If you discover a defect after delivery (for example a production error or clear non-conformity with the agreed specifications):
Reporting period – Inform us within a reasonable time after discovering the defect. Under Dutch consumer law, a notification within two (2) months after discovery is always considered timely.
Assessment – We may ask for photos and/or additional information to assess the issue.
Resolution – If a defect is confirmed, we will, at our discretion and in line with the law: (A) repair the artwork, or (B) provide a replacement, or (C) offer a proportionate refund.
Do not send any artwork back to us before receiving our instructions.
3. Warranty and Maintenance
3.1 Limited colour fastness warranty We offer a limited warranty of one (1) year against significant colour fading of the acrylic paint under normal indoor conditions.
3.2 Warranty conditions and exclusions This warranty (and your rights regarding defects) is subject to the following:
Proper use & maintenance – The issue must not be caused by improper use, accident, neglect, or failure to follow reasonable care instructions (for example: prolonged direct sunlight, extreme humidity, or physical impact).
Normal wear and artistic variations – Normal wear and tear, minor colour variations, small surface irregularities or differences inherent in the artistic and robotic painting process are not considered defects.
